DISCOVERING THE DISTINCTIVE VILLAGES OF THE ARDECHE
|
The early days of September are just around the corner, bringing in their wake a peaceful Ardèche, more conducive to the exploration of must-see sites: lovely villages basking in the sunshine, pampering their medieval stones, playing tag on the mountaintops or nestling deep inside a valley... here are the Ardèche’s 17 distinctive villages. Some will soon be donning their autumn colours, surrounded with vineyards or chestnut tree forests.
Those villages are lively, touching, and sometimes mysterious, strung out along the valleys north and south of the county. The latest to have received a label, Boucieu-le-Roi, overlooks the Vallée du Doux between Tournon-sur-Rhône and Lamastre.
The other 16 distinctive villages are: Ailhon, Alba-la-Romaine, Antraigues, Balazuc, Banne, Beauchastel, Chalencon, Désaignes, Jaujac, Labeaume, Meyras, Naves, Saint-Montan, Thueyts, Vinezac and Vogüé.
Useful to note: In order to help you better understand their history and discover them through the perspective of the inhabitants, the County Council, in partnership with Editions du Dauphiné Libéré publishers, has conceived a special-issue magazine called “hameaux et merveilles” (Hamlets and Marvels) specially devoted to them. It is for sale in all newspaper outlets for €5, and features summaries in English... Follow the guide!

From this year, we have mobile-homes for 4/6 people, 220€/week to 27th June and from the 12th September, then 360€/week to 4th July and from the 22nd August to 12th September and 450€/week from the 4th July to 22nd August.
We offer a 20% discount on the 2nd week for a rental of minimum 2 weeks.
We also rent 10 rooms. It is possible to host groups – contact us for further details. Special offer for mushroom picking in September and October, 10% discount on the price of a room for a minimum of 3 nights.
